#2.GoPro Karma - best drones for mount footage
Thinking about picking up a drone this year. Well checking out the GoPro Karma coming up.
The Gopro Karma is a pretty amazing offering because it is an all in one drone solution First of all you get the drone.
Gopro Karma is a very portable very you know not too heavy of a drone And you're good to go. The gimbal to keep your footage steady and the HERO5 camera as well.
But what really makes this package fascinating is that you also get a handheld gimbal. So you can just pop the gimbal right off the camera put on to a handheld gimbal.
You get stable footage on the ground as well Not only that but they also include a way to mount that same gimbal on a front of a bicycle a motorcycle.
You can mount footage And then you also get an included remote and the screen. So a lot of times with a drone you need a smartphone. You need a monitor to be able to hook it up to their remote. What's really cool about the GoPro Karma is that for 1999 dollars.
You have a separate action camera that you could use anywhere you want. You've got the handheld gimbal. You can get those stable footage on the ground. It work together in a cohesive package and so one thing to definitely consider is that when at this point. We've gotten drones separate but the camera's built in and you can't take the camera away.
You buy a separate action camera with a separate gimbal. GoPro is definitely being very competitive by putting everything into one package for kind of an all in one. Everything you need content creator influencer package to put out some amazing aerial footage, stable ground footage, action camera footage in general.
Now as far as the specs on the GoPro camera the HERO5 will do 4k at 30 frames a second. You can also do 60 frames a second at 2.7k And then if you wanna get that 120 frames a second slow motion footage.
You can do that at 1080p and so a lot of great settings and frame rate settings right there on the HERO5. You can also pick up the Karma for 799 without the camera. You can also use it with a HERO4 with a 20 dollar adapter piece.
I love about the Karma setup is that it has a bunch of settings for beginners. The fact that the HERO5 is waterproof without a case. If you have it on the gimbal or even if you're flying in the rain you don't have to really worry about the camera.
If it gets wet Whereas a lot of action cameras they need a separate waterproof case and a lot of times. When you have a separate waterproof case it won't work on a gimbal. Gimbals machinery won't fit it. The GoPro has kinda solved that waterproof issue without needing those bulky plastic waterproof cases.
I think that GoPro is a real player in the industry. If you are starting from scratch. It's a definitely great solution to check out because you get everything all at once.
- Built-in display on controller.
- Easy to use.
- Includes handheld stabilizer.
- Modest battery life.
- No obstacle avoidance.

#5.DJI Phantom 4 - cheap quadcopters with camera
This is my hands on post of the new DJI phantom 4, If you've been looking for a quadcopter for a while now but you just haven't found the right on.
I think this one is a surefire bet that you'll be pretty happy with the results.
DJI last year they came out with three different versions and then they threw a fourth one into the mix.
So people are a little confused about which one they wanted. Which one they actually needed well this time. They just made one in the phantom series and that is the Phantom so no more having to figure out which one you need this one is the one you need.
I want to cover some of the features of this guy there is tap to fly. That means you have the transmitter and then you have your Ipad you tap on that screen and the quadcopter will fly where you tap they also have active track.
What active track does is ?
It tracks moving objects or people you basically draw a square around the object or the person and they can start moving or running or even driving and the quadcopter will track them no extra bracelet or phone or transmitter involved. It doesn't all with the camera and tracking it that way.
So there's also a sport mode on this. The last phantom cruised along pretty well. This one out will hit speeds up to 45 miles per-hour. That can be very handy especially.
If you're chasing something or you're trying to get somewhere very quickly, you switch to that sport mode and you can just zip right along there's also the point of interest. Which is awesome for highlighting like buildings.
If you want a circle a building or a certain object. Get really smooth professional shots that way they have waypoints. Which allows you to tap out your flight before you actually fly. So that's really neat too and then they have a new smart return to home function.
So if you're out and about you lost your orientation or you just don't know, where this thing went you can hit that return to home and that will. Actually go up and avoid obstacles as it comes back to you to land safely.
The Phantom does come with a 4k camera and the gimbal has been integrated into the actual body of the quadcopter. So you get a get smoother shots. I've flown this and winds up to like 35/40 miles per hour. It has the light bridge technology.
You hook up your iPad or your iPhone to this and you can fly up to three point. One there's like three miles bout 3.2 miles 3.1 miles away and view the footage from the camera directly from your iPad or iPhone right as you're flying in 720p.
So that's pretty sweet they've updated the VPS the vision positioning system. It uses four sensors now before it just used two. So they have two in the front and then they have two on the bottom and they also have sonar technology that basically sends little beeps off the ground. So the quad can just fly a little bit more stable.
What's different from the Phantom 3 Pro ?
Now they've increased flight time to about 28 minutes now that 28 minutes you might want to bring it down to around 20 minutes because when you're flying the quad. When it gets down to around 30% or 20%.
Well obviously there's a new battery every time DGI makes new quadcopter they seem to make a new battery.
Usually you want to bring it down just to be safe you know especially in windy environments but that 28 minutes is probably flying from a hundred percent all the way down to you know zero percent.
You get that twenty-eight minutes but it is improved up to twenty-five percent than the Phantom 3 Pro now charge time for this new battery.
It's a little bit bigger battery and I've noticed the charge time to be a little bit more than my Phantom 3 Pro. Even if I only have two bars on that and charge it.
It just seems to take about to now more like minutes especially from a dead battery so picking another battery up is definitely a good idea now the charger has changed everything on the quadcopter.
Itself is just like super glossy white everything's a gloss white the Chargers white and it's only available in Apple stores until the end of this month.
It doesn't matter which way that's kind of like the Lightning port on the iPhone and the iPad. What else is new we have the sport mode so you can fly four or five miles per hour the last one. I think going miles per hour we have the active track that is new the tap to fly that is new.
We have the two new sensors for the BPS and the play button on the transmitter has changed to a pause button. So if you're doing a mission and you want to pause you just hit the pause button, it will freeze the quadcopter and hold it in its location right there now some other differences from the previous phantom is that they raise the motors.
Now the reason for this they said is so you don't get the props in your shot well that doesn't quite happen. I mean maybe you won't get them as much but when you're flying especially fast you're still going to see props.
It gets crazy but they did a good job lifting them up a little bit better they look really good and the thing is super fast now as for the camera the differences between the Phantom Pro 4 and the Phantom 3.
They said they tweaked the camera they tweaked the camera to shoot at frames per second. I'll put some of that footage up on the screen and I'm not too impressed by this most likely.
So these are supposed to be quicker to change which they are they're really simple you just push them on and twist and then you push them on and twist them off and this is supposed to help for better braking the quad does fly faster.
I guess these are supposed to help the quad break faster somehow but anyway um the SD card location has changed before. It was kind of like on the plate of the gimbal and when you think about it wasn't a very good location now.
It's right in the solid body of the Phantom so really easy to pop in and out and just looks really good. Another slight difference between the Phantom Pro 4 and the Phantom is that the phantom core does take a little bit longer to warm up it actually has a new doot doot sound but there's also it sounds like a neat.
- Obstacle Sensing System (OSS).
- Integrated optical sensors.
- It can connect to GPS and GLONASS.
- Videos to be shot in 30 frames per second.
- User guide have a few missing guidelines.
- Battery lasts longer with 28-minute endurance.
#6.RISE Vusion 250 - rc quadcopter with camera
We are the RC sailors in around at our airfield today to really put the new rise fusion through the through the ropes so to speak.
I flew it as a first test flight kind of like a first flight tips message for you.
But haven't really been pushing it or myself with this Claude yeah and that's what I want to do today.
I did realize on my first flight that I accidentally left a little lens protective cover on the film that comes on the plane camera. I am a goober for doing that so I've taken that off and because i'm so very used to flying with my camera angled forward or down a bit today.
I'm only going to start with it angled up a teeny bit not the whole way. I could fly much faster but i'm not going to today. I want to ease into this. I've got my battery charged. I have PV goggles here out with me today these are the ones that come with it and they do work quite nicely.
I'm going to record directly to the quad on a 32 gigabyte microSD card rather than on the DVR well. I' m not going to record on the DVR. I am only going to record directly to the camera on the quad.
You should get a much crisper image. Now that i took that protective lens off so let's get this in the air i want to fly a crow mode i think. I'm still talking cuz i got little butterflies in me.
I broke the frame and I can't buy parts for it anymore they don't have them in stock. I'm really happy to have this this is way more sensitive than the file just go and say the Black Widow the ''Black Widow'' was my top favorite drone but this in accra mode feels like.
It's almost double the rates something. I'm not even sure if I've got the rates on the highest mode. So that's very interesting to know that this thing is just hip flies like a whip. I mean it just it'll crack when you want it to this is. I don't careful it's corny but that Hollis is flying.
He will be been that is amazing this thing has absolute total control those flips in accra mode feel so smooth and i think i got like a seven or so minute flight time out of that on the stock battery which is crazy impressive the whole time well towards the last half of the flight.
I kept thinking when is that beep going to kick in because I know it s got to be gettin low but I have a long flight on that for a squad like this now my next.
I think, I' ll probably fly or so more times on the settings like that but then i'll probably pitch my camera up some after about more flights. Maybe if I feel comfortable with it and start flying a lot faster doing those things.
I was doing this thing is amazing done. I love flying it they've hit a home run with this right now as far as race drones go as today's date this is by far my favorite race drone.
I've ever had my hands on and you guys have seen me progress from the ground up. Through the Black Widow and helped me go a long way this could do the same thing as the same features that quad hat.
Then some and have amazing price with a great company this view ssion quad is awesome. It is better than the Black Widow hands down awesome awesome quad. I can't wait to get another battery in and keep flying.
- Modular Completely Ready To Fly ( RTF ) Race Drone.
- High-quality LCD screen and FPV safety glasses.
- 5.8 GHz video transmitter.
- A 600TVL FPV electronic camera.
- The monitor At only 480 x 272 resolution.
#7.Cheerson CX-17 Cricket- cheap quadcopters with camera
Meet the cricket we're going to go ahead and take this quadcopter out of the box.
I ' m going to show you how fun this one is this one just came in a couple days ago.
I'm super excited !
I love these little tiny ones mainly because they're a little bit cheaper to get and you can still get parts for them and extra batteries.
Let's go ahead and take this one out of the box and I' ll talk with you what the cricket is all about but before we unbox and go to fly it.
Then we'll come back into the studio and we'll talk about some specifics about the cricket.
We're going to go ahead:
Do a little indoor flight test because that one's pretty much what this one's for you can flying in the house and bump off things and keep going.
If you don't like the way that sounds it bothers you so. I'm going to do my auto take off over here on the right hand side and just push that button and it will come up and it should have a nice bit of altitude hole.
So let's talk how that works going up to the ceiling a little bit. It's going to get it at a maintain altitude and try to hold that altitude bring it down a little bit
If I can get the hang of it keep it in one spot and play around with my all a little bit flats inside let's take some trips around the room first. I'm blowing everything off the bench a little bit of a mess today.
But never too messy to fly inside but it seems to control really well actually. I'm getting the hang of this not as fast as it goes for the all right there pretty easy to fly actually. I'm going to take a trip around the light up there yeah very precise control.
I' m gonna do Auto landing on the bench here. I'm gonna see how that works that was pretty easy now go ahead and do an auto takeoff here hit that button now.
I want to try at flip probably not the best idea in the world but we're going to try it anyway indoors. So I'm going to go to the on screen controls and that's where flipping. It's feeling we crash help.
We crashed so I just crashed into the wall under the bench over there and there's one little bent prop here as you can see. But you know what I can just straighten that right back out just like that now. It's straight again no problem the pop guards did their job protecting the rest of them only one of them got a little bit tweaked.
We could probably do flips outside or if you have a higher ceiling I don't have much of a ceiling in here probably seven or maybe a seven foot ceiling in here.
So if you have eight for it that's probably a little better or you don' t have a bench in the way like I do but I don't let this battery charge for a little while and it seems to have a pretty good flight time right now.
I've already got at least three minutes into it now really does fly well and a zoom around the room and here is my real time view by the way on the phone. It's not a whole lot of lag in the Wi Fi which i think is great well my prop guards are working and just bounce off the shelf back there.
I hard to watch the real time view and why the same time while watching the camera fly straight out itself Music the author' s blog. I don' t know if you' ve seen any of my beginner site flying lessons.
When I started out flying quad copters quite a few years ago I had a little and just like this but it didn' t have a camera on it it was totally line of sight so you had no real time video view on here so this one extra neat because you can use.
It on your smartphone and you can see the real time Wi Fi feed right on your screen so a lot has changed in just a couple years time.
You can let your kids fly or yourself to learn how to fly quad copters for a very marginal amount of money very minimal amount of money.
Now, this one is a redesign of quite a few quads that we've seen in the past from cheerson and this one's a little bit special for one particular reason. I think is going to make this one a good value that's going to be a removable battery some of the other micros out there have an internal battery and once that battery dies.
Gets puffed up you're really not going to be able to replace. It's inside the quadcopter so this one features a removable battery one of the first little micros outside like the tiny web class that has a removable battery this is pretty nice. We're going to be able to get extra batteries for this CX17.
Which I really like because who wants to fly one battery it's fun to fly a few now the camera on here on the very front like. I said I didn't have that luxury when I was just starting but you do and this one 640 by 480 which is not 720 like. I like to see illness but it will do just fine for what we're going to do.
It's also going to put a WiFi stream over to your phone. If you use this little transmitter right here along with it in conjunction with your phone you can get the WiFi straight to your phone just like you're going to connect to your home WiFi and then you can see the real time view on there.
I'll go ahead and download that out for you guys and show you that as well now if you go ahead and grab your manual that came along with your CX 17 open it up to the download software page.
You'll see these three QR codes here you have one for iOS your Android phones and your mainland China users and go ahead and get a QR scanner on your phone and hover it over top of the operating system barcode that you have until it comes into focus.
It' ll read that QR code and take me directly into the app store where I can download the proper app for my CA 17 C X 17 so let's go ahead and install that so they have their own app for it which is kind of cool .
I'm going to expect that this app is actually pretty nice since. It was developed for the CX 17 it's not just a generic UFO WFi app so we'll go ahead and go out of that.
I'll go ahead and connect it to the quadcopter looks like we have it here on the screen. I'm just going to drag that over all the way to the end screen. I have all my drones on drone apps and there. We go so I'll go ahead and open that up it looks like a pretty nice app so far.
It's not asking me to register which is kind of cool I can't stand the ones that make you register. We can play around with the setup in there right handed mode is off so we' ll figure out which one is going to be the throttle mode. I want mine in mode too so.
I'm probably going to do throttle on this side. Which is also a self centering stick so it does have altitude on here that's also a really nice feature screen rotating.
We don't want that to be because we don't want the screen to move and automatically save that would be kind of nice if it automatically saved.
We do have English here or a choice of Chinese. I'll go back out and we'll go ahead and connect the WiFi to the drone next now this is your first time starting up your CX 17 go ahead and charge up the battery on your quad first with your little USB cable that came along with.
It just plug it into your computer or wall outlet and you'll see the crickets start blinking like that go ahead and turn on the transmitter next and the way you pair it up is you push.
The stick all the way up and all the way down and now it' s bound to the quadcopter most of these toy drones they work the same way just like that. So now I can use my app and it should give me a Wi Fi signal so we are going to go over to settings in my iPhone and my iPhone 6 fits this case quite nice.
So I will choose CX 17 WiFi there and it should automatically connect there shouldn't be any kind of password there needed.
So I'm going to go head back to CX 17 app and click start and now check this out. You can see my shelf over there you can see the bench oops you can see all around the room in real time. That's looking pretty good you guys move the camera up just a little bit.
You can see it better so now ! We have full functionality to app and we have a few different options here with this app and this is a lot like other cheerson quad copters you can fly it from screen controls or you can fly it from the sticks so a lot of times.
I like to fly with physical stick so I'm glad that they actually give us a transmitter with sticks sometimes. I don' t like to fly from the phone because it's not quite as a good experience for me so you can also turn off those by clicking that little eye up at the top right and now.
We can use just the sticks you can also do take auto take offs and auto land with this you can do return back to the main screen on this far left icon. You can take photos here up at the top left. We would like to access your photos to say yes because otherwise.
It won't save that quads photos or video straight to your phone it actually doesn't have to have a microSD card in there which is really nice. We can go ahead and start recording there I'm going to remove those screen there let's see we'll stop it and the next one over is your library.
I did a couple photos there and I have one right there just took a picture of the wall. I can go back out of it. Now if you want to save this to your phone double click on it there and it should be saved directly to your phone let's see there is no extra step there to saving anything.
So one video file as well let' s see if there's a state a way to save this one. It should be in my photo album right on the phone so if I go out of the app and back so now we're back to the main screen and we have a few different options here on the main screen.
I 'll bring the phone a little closer so you can see it a little better now the next icon over is the gravit sensing control icon. You can turn that on or off here just by hitting it really quickly and the next one over is OneTouch balance calibration. So if you want to calibrate your quadcopter.
While it's sitting you see that little scale right there represents balance and that's how you make sure that your accelerometer is going to be balanced out properly make sure.
It's sitting on a nice and level flat surface back there and that next icon over it says 30% right now and I'm not flying so it won't let me change it but while you are flying.
If you click that it'll go to 60 and then 100 and it just changes the speed and angle of your quadcopter.
So if you want to fly it faster you can hit that a couple times go to 100% speed and it will fly pretty fast at a hundred speed.
Now the next one I have on the screen here is pretty cool that's the VR if you want to split it up and use some kind of Google cardboard glasses with your phone.
You can fly this one in virtual reality with a pair of goggles and that's actually pretty cool too.
Because then you are doing some beginner FPV with your Cricut and that's kind of fun outside. You can fly around little playground equipment and fly through things and little tree gaps and stuff and that's a lot of fun for the new guys to experience that Plus you have crop guards on there. So if you hit a tree branch you're probably just going to bow soft and click.
It again and it goes away now the next one. We have on there is to rotate the monitor and that just rotates it upside down. I'm not sure why you want to do that but click it again and it goes away now like.
I showed you earlier that little eye icon brings up the on screen controls and then you're flying it from your phone instead of bringing their controller.
So you could leave this at home and just bring the phone and fly it from the phone using throttle on the left there in mode 2. If you want to switch it around to mode 1 where the throttles over here you can do that in the settings of this app.
So that's kind of nice you also have Auto takeoff here an auto land and you have 360 flips there. If you want to do a flip and in the middle we have something new this is selfie mode now the next icon over here this is trajectory mode.
This is something new for the CX 17 if you click on that if you point on the screen. Let's go back into the settings there. If you click on that it will allow me to set a way point.
The quad will fly along that route that you pointed off into the direction from where you're standing out to the horizon that's kind of cool. I can click that back off to remove that after I did that where I can click.
It back on and do a new one and I can go like that at any route I want and the quad will follow along that route that's kind of cool so it's kind of like a point A to point B type of Waypoint interaction in the app.
How do you arm your cheerson CX 17 pretty simple you can do the auto takeoff from the screen by hitting that icon right there or if you want to do it from the controller kind of does it like a phantom 2 would so both sticks down and out will arm the quad and then you can just bump the throttle stick up.
It will automatically take off now when you come down to land if you want to automatically disarm. It you should go out into the corner again and it disarms it for you that's pretty cool but like.
I said I'd like to flat form the controller so all the other controls that are on the on screen display are also right here on your controller. If you don't want to use them here.
You can actually use them physically there buttons that exist on the controller themselves you have start and stop the video here and take photos over on this side I' ll bring it a little closer.
You can see it there it also has a mode 1 switch button up on the very top now your own off switches here in the very center. It is expandable out like that which I really like about these transmitters.
I think this is awesome because it makes it way way better to fly just feels more natural. I Don' t like it kind of in like this but if you're a kid and you have smaller hands this is great for kids too.
Now over here on the right hand side you have two arrows those are Auto takeoff and auto land. So I have all the same features on here on this transmitter as I do right here on the screen that's kind of cool.
It takes two triple A batteries in the very back that power of this transmitter. So you don' t have to have a lot of batteries to get flying and this is also on which I like a lot now let's give a little final analysis overview my opinion of the cricut CX 17 .
I'm going to be honest with you. I like a lot of the aspects about this one. I like the built in prop guard that it did n't have to install myself. I like the sort of flat design from the front and the sides.
It's very streamlined and it seems to be kind of a nice and heavy weight it doesn't feel cheap in my hands like some of the other microbes do.
I think it has a reasonable power for how heavy it is and it flies really well it flew well out in the field. I enjoyed flying this one so there is a quadcopter for everyone out there there's different styles motor sizes.
The small ones are a lot of fun so you don't have to fly a really fast fpv racer quad to have fun these are also a lot of fun.
Now also in the box you get a little proper mover tool and these are pretty important because you don't want to bend these you can just simply place this underneath and push the prop up using this tool slides right up just like that.
It will take the prop off. You also do get some extra props as well give you an extra set but you can also find these on Amazon.
I can share with you down in the link below you also get a USB charger simply for charging up that battery that's in this quad now. It takes about an hour to charge up this battery now you do get around seven minutes flight time with this quad and that's not bad.
I would like to see 10 minutes on maybe the next version and the weight on this quad is actually 39 grams so it' s well under any kind of sort of federal regulations or requirements you do' t have to put a number on this one this one is absolutely a toy and the distance on this one.
It goes about 30 meters out they say 25 meters for the WiFi so that's you know that's around 90 feet out that's pretty far out there with a micro you're going to be flying in close proximity with this one anyway but definitely sort of a little taste of what FPV can be like.
I think that's pretty cool for people that they get a little bit of taste maybe what racing feels like when you shoot through tree gaps and play around with maybe you set up a little course and fly through your house.
- Awesome flight play time.
- Hold mode altitude.
- Very extendable transmitter.
- Decent wind resistance.
- Video/Photo function works only with mobile device.
- Low image quality.
#8.WLtoys q393a - Best drones under $100 with camera
WLtoys q393a is a new technology drone from wltoys. It is the q39 3a RC quadcopter and it does come with own little HD camera.
It has a little 720p camera right there. It does 2 megapixel stills as well.
If you're new and you're looking to get into flying quadcopters. This one is a good bet mainly. Because it already has a little bit of rubber dampening on this camera and you can take it a step further.
I'm going to talking with you how to even further dampen this for extra smooth video but the camera itself.
Actually looks quite better than some of the toy drone cameras. I've seen in the past six months. It has seem to be a better resolution in a finer grain on this one 720p is HD barely HD.
The colors look really vivid in this is a little something different going on with the sensor in this camera. It just seems to be quite a bit better than what I've seen on toy drones especially coming from our friends over at wltoys this is quite big as well.
It also Clues a four-gigabyte microSD card so that's very very nice and the legs on this quad. I like them a lot they actually stand up about five inches off the surface of the grass.
So you're not your net camera is not actually sitting in the grass as much. When you go to take off now if you take off in little higher grass you will be seeing grass but for the most part.
If you're flying in little local parks and things like that you're not going to have any problem and it does have pretty large props on it looking at close to Phantom to size props on here around 9 inches.
The battery that comes along with it. It's a 2' s pretty large 2620 C battery charges in about an hour and a half and you don't have to do anything have an on up button here.
All you have to do is slide it in and you can see all the LEDs on the top of the quad start to light up. You have LEDs on the bottom and once. It's bound up as well when you push the stick all the way up you'll hear.
It beep push the stick all the way down you'll hear it beep and these lights will go solid when it's ready to fly now another cool feature about this one is.
I have my transmitter labeled here T off and land means that it's Auto takeoff in Auto land also very nice for a beginner quadcopter. It starts off the motors by itself and then raises up off the ground to about a meter high. Which is super nice now you also have a button for one key return on here and you have headless mode very popular.
We also have high and low mode over here on this side. We have OneTouch roll also pretty cool now you can move the gimbal up and you can move the gimbal down with these two buttons up and down right there press for a still and long press to start the video camera on here for your 720p videos now the transmitter is also pretty nice.
I always prefer the 5.8 gigahertz versions. Because the frame rate is faster on here and you get way less lag than using the WiFi set up. WiFi video tends to lag a little bit you might look a little better a little higher resolution but you're going to have a lot more lag.
If you're relying on your monitor to see where you're going on a sunny day. It can be kind of hard to see especially when it's stuttering but it does come with this pretty nice little foldable sunshade, so that's extra nice there now.
You can see these little feet in the background as well and then the arms come along here and the battery slides in right back here so turn the quad around looking at it from the rear.
I'll just slide that battery in there for you and you see it light up and it doesn't have an LED on the back of the battery like. I thought it did but you see the lights on the top and the bottom flashing waiting for the transmitter to turn on and once you have the transmitter on go ahead and push.
Your stick up you should hear it beep and all the way down and you'll see that they go solid. Now the quad is ready to fly so it turned the lights off for you guys so you can see.
What it looks like with the LEDs top and bottom here super awesome nice very very nice LEDs on this one and this one's a good size for your next step up. If you fly a small inner quad first and then you move up to something like this on the way to flying race drones.
This is probably a good progression for your second quad. Because it is quite large you want to fly. It in a nice big open field but anyway.
We have the controller on you can see this computer screen here. It shows you a few different things on here that are a little bit different as well.
You have your height over here and your meters away and that's actually pretty neat that it does show you that and if you look at this little computer display. It has a lot of information on here.
It's actually pretty cool and it shows your percentage here your percentage rate on your throttle go all the way up to 100 and back down to zero and Center stick 50 at and the other nice thing about this quad is that it does have altitude hold you notice.
The stick as a self centering stick so that means that it has altitude hold you can let go in the straddle. It should maintain its hover right at the same altitude. Now we'll drift left and right and forward and back with the wind.
It s not a GPS hold drone so don't think it's going to definitely sit in one spot. It will drift a little bit so you'll have to be on your sticks a little bit.
When you're flying this one it also has different trims here you can trim. It in any different direction. I usually leave the trims absolutely Center with quad copters that kind of important now over here. It has another feature that's new to toy drones is height it shows your altitude right here.
On this side and over on this side there is a flight duration monitor so you can tell how long you've been flying for keep an eye on that because this one slides about 13 minutes, so that's a pretty decent time on this battery.
I would probably fly it 10 9 or 10 minutes. Then put it on the ground and you'll save your battery the life of your battery will last you much longer.
If you do that now if you look up here your monitor is happening in real time so your camera you're seeing all of this in real time. I'll just move the copter around a little bit.
I would probably fly it 10 9 or 10 minutes. Then put it on the ground and you'll save your battery the life of your battery will last you much longer. If you look up here your monitor is happening in real time so your camera you're seeing all of this in real time. I'll just move the copter around a little bit.
Here so you can see there is really no lag in this and that's what we're looking for in quads. If you have a lot of lag it makes it extremely hard to tell where you are in the scope of a huge field. If you're flying out in a big open area makes a huge difference have something with a fast framerate.
It does come in mode too. It's set up with the throttle on the left right here and your role and your pitch axis over here on the right side now. I'm going to show you something that will help you get rid of a jello in your video, if you notice that there was any jello in the video that I showed you.
Which you might have because there was some jello in that you can make one of these little guys this is a credit card gimbal you just take one credit card chop it in half with a pair of scissors and you take some zip tie and just kind of fashion.
It just like this so you have quite a bit of dampening in here put a little velcro on one side and the other and stick your camera to this and then stick the other side to your quad.
It will just add a really nice bit of vibration isolation in between your quad and your camera because all the vibration from these motors these are brush motor spokes.
They will send quite a bit of vibration to the camera. It just all translates directly down to the video and just has a little bit of wobble in the video.
If you notice so quick fix to that would be using a credit card gimbal now for the new guys you definitely want to put on the prop guards and these are extra special.
Because you don't have to use any tools to put these on there they just slide in just like this and they will clip into place right underneath the motor gear so voila. It is on and it will not come off unless you pull it off very very nice.
Use these for the first few days that yo're flying all four of them on there. You'll save your props. Now speaking of props you also get an extra set of props one two three four props total extras.
If you break one prop out they're not the end of the world and also these are different than some of the CMAs style connectors. I like these a lot better because these can just twist off by hand but I usually take them all the way down.
I take a wrench and I just sort of half turn them a little bit tighter just to make sure that they stay on so this redesign is very very nice as well and this is the flight battery that comes with the drone.
So it has these three little end pieces right here that just simply plug into your battery charger now make sure they line up with the teeth that are inside here they are on the bottom row right here.
These are going to be on the bottom there once you line those up all you have to do is press it in like this until. It's nice and snug and go ahead and push it down you'll see this little red light here.
When it's finished charging it will show you green when it's all ready to go also for your monitor the charge board on the bottom your monitor is right here and the standard five point eight monitor.
We have a USB cord going in there now one other note. You'll need one of those USA converters because the charger is one of these European Union Style charger. And lastly you get a couple more USB looking devices in here.
You have to go down to the store and pick one up so let's go ahead and give you some final thoughts on the q 39 three a quadcopter. I think this is a great introductory quadcopter for people who are looking to just get into fine. If you haven't flown quadcopter before this is great for learning your aerial orientation.
How to learning fly in all different types of weather:
It's important that you know and you learn how to fly non gps first gps is just kind of like cheating you guys. It's not really like flying you just come up. It sits in one spot and it doesn't drift and you don't have to use the sticks to counteract which way it's drifting because it'll just sit there in the wind bite into the wind a little bit and hold.
It's position but without GPS you have to rely on your sticks and your flight skills. So this is a great way to learn actually learn how to fly this really important. If you know how to fly first before you get something like a DJI phantom or the typhoon H or something bigger with GPS.
You're going to know how to bring it back if you have to fly it back in manual and that's very important for learning how to fly quad copters and airplanes or anything else RC. If you know how to use the sticks properly in the manual modes you probably won't have too much problems.
Especially if it gets way out there and you need to bring it back in your manual mode. Sometimes you have to spin it around with they all stick or spin. It around to you think, it's coming back to your direction same thing with this one. If you get into trouble the first thing.
I do is I try to take it a little bit higher and then I start to use my left and right rial and that just spins the copter around and once I spin it one time. I will pull back on the stick to see if it starts to return to me.
If it's not I will spin it a little more and pull it back but try to remain calm. If that happens to you you get way out there and you have a discombobulation of direction.
You can't tell which way you're facing just spin it with they all stick and pull back and if that doesn't work spin it again and pull back and keep spinning it until.
You get that direction where it s headed and traveling back to you so that's it you guys.
- Dampened camera mount.
- 720p HD camera with SD card and USB card reader.
- Headless mode and one key return.
- Lithium Polymer battery capacity average of 650mAh.
- It's not a true return to home and landing.
- Telemetry battery power is some that inaccurate.
#9.Yuneec Q500 4K - easiest quadcopter to fly
Welcome back to another guide today we are going to be present at the latest edition of UNIX Q500.
This time will a 4k camera and fully load it with everything you can possibly want.
I'm going to be talking you true all the content of the new kit and telling you what i like and probably also some of the things. I don't like so stay tuned and of course.
Let's get going before I pulled the box out I have a huge box right here but i do want really quickly preface. We have seen the Q500 before when unique released the Q500. This spring it was they were breaking new ground in several areas first of all they made a larger 500 size multi rotor for post.
Those of us who have been flying the Q500 knows that the 500 size has turned out to be a great size for video production is very stable and very calm to fly in the air they also had a surprisingly high quality Gimple with higher quality smooth video. Than really most other multirotors out there so for me. I really enjoyed flying it now what they have done.
Now is they have come out with a larger radio and a 4k camera and also the new 4k camera has 100% manual image control. So you can set your settings the way you want them for your imagery so let's lose this.
Let's open up the box alright let's crack this thing open all right here. We go it's a pretty big bucks. so I'm going to kind of just liberate these things out. We're going to talk about it and then we're going to turn around and put it together.
I'm going to explain a bit about how this works up on top here :
We have let's start with the top shield of the information piece here one of the things. I really like is they put all the international groups on here where you can contact unique.
one of the things that's really unique about the Q500 is that it comes with six months warranty that is completely revolutionary in the industry. Because nobody else really offers and warranty on their products past the first days so and also you will see right here unique has put the information phone numbers and email addresses.
How to contact them so they are very transparent very upfront telling you how to get hold of them this is the important sheet right here with the information. Don't lose it cracking further into the box.
We find the Q500 quick start guide this quick start guide is essentially the basics you need to get going the next thing that includes also is a quick shot or user manual for this steady grip the steady grip is the hand grip that you can use to hold the camera.
So in case you want to do handheld recording for maybe your documentary. Your video you can use the hand grip to use the same camera using the same camera of course makes. It easy to edit in post production.
Here's an important thing this is what I call the cheat sheet notice how it has the little colored codes here. That is the blinking light coats from the back of the aircraft so that if you look upat.
It you're going to see these codes and this cheap will tell you what those codes are if you flip the sheet over here is, how to do calibration and the basic information's about how the system works. I wood laminate this and hold on to it because you want to have that with you when you fly so you can always cheat and eyeball.
It really quickly before flying of course. We couldn't have a modern product without a warning sheet all the things you should not do not use this in your bathtub and further up. Here we have a set of props and interestingly and very cool all of these q500 comes with two sets of props that's a total of eight propellers withers need a couple so.
I'm going to grab a couple of these out of here a total of four propellers underneath. It we find the shield for the radio controller. I'll show you in a little minute how we're going to set that up and over here is the accessory box let's come back to that in a minute and get rid of the top layer alright y then here.
It is the beautiful new typhoon q500 4k edition. I gotta tell you, I really think this color scheme is beautiful let' s turn it around and put it down and get the rest of the stuff out of this box there and what else do.
We have here the kit comes with two batteries these are some of my favorite battery systems because they are made very simple and very effective. Let me get right back to that lets them to the box here and then we can start playing one of my favorite chargers. It's not the world 's most advanced charger.
What is so cool about it is ?
It has a plug on the side and you can use this as a car charger or at home and it comes from the manufacturer with both the car charging and the home charging option.
So here is the power brick the wall plug of the wall charger for when you use it at home and somewhere we should also have a car charger over here is a power cord for the home charger we're not going to be charging right now. So I'm going to put it down over here.
It's a little USB charger that is so that you can charge the radio controller and let's get that out and then we have pretty much almost emptied the box here' s the radio. I'm going to put that down right here for now and lasting out of the box the controller for hand holding the camera in case you want to film as handheld camera rather than flying the camera.
We put that down here and put the top layer back in the box what I really like is how complete this box is the entire.
It fits right into this travel box take the lid and I' ll put it right back on there we go close the lid complete box everything. We need to fly literally is in this box let's put that down alrighty haven't looked at this.
Let's reorganize real quickly here is the multi rotor. I am going to put that over here there now you can see. I have some space to show you things in the detail camera that's sitting right up here. We have the radio and let's start out talking propellers up on top of these motors is of course a warning not to cut our fingers off.
When we do fly and put propellers on and that's one of the reasons i do' t use carbon fiber pillars. I prefer using the standard plastic propellers from the manufacturer like these the reason is a plastic propeller will break. So if you fly into your branch or a finger it starts breaking carbon fiber propellers are stronger and they don' t break and if you start chopping at your finger.
If the prop don't break your finger is going to break so i prefer our plastic propellers. They don't have to be from the manufacturer but i still use plastic propellers to install them. It is already set up they only go on one way and so we're going to put one on right here and start spinning it down.
Because i want to emphasize one thing you can kind of see. It right here once i push it down a little bit it gets to the little rubber ring that's on top of the motor that rubber ring is there to capture it and prevent it from sliding back. But it's very important to grab heart on the motor and tweak it down at least another half a turn.
You really want to get a good tweak on this multirotors has been changing and in the old flight controller systems the only thing the motor would do be speed up or slow go down.
Now a days these motors or the flight controller have what is called motor breaking meaning instead of just slowing down the propeller to maintain level. It would literally break the motor aggressively and that could cause the propeller to spin off so because of that grab on the motor and tweet this the correct way down.
If you get a really good snug fit so here is the aircraft before we start talking components let's empty the SS rate box in case. You didn't know it says that sensories right here and it also has an included SD card.
We have the little pincher pipette and that thing first time. I saw this I didn't know what that was in the meantime. I have learned that is the course there is a cable way.
I can see it and basically what do you use is this thing. You stick it in and you can grab the cable for the update and that is what you use to make firmware updates to the flight controller. So don't lose this because you're going to be using it next coming out of here.
I'm talking about updates this is the funky little USB plug and a cable that is the cable. You 'll be connecting to the cable inside the aircraft to do the firmware updates. So these two could be in a sip lock back together because you're going to be using them together and what else.
We go this is I call it the coat hanger and I'm sure the official designers would not agree with calling at that but basically. It comes to a little velcro strap now there that holds.
It together and the water the way this is meant to be used is when you take the radio you hook it right onto here and you can see how wide that is so that means that I can actually see the entire screen at the same time as.
I have support from my radio. I can see the screen and I can operate the touchscreen interface. I'm going to take it off again now since we're not going to be flying and all here comes the pincher the way this works.
It's a big set of pliers basically and that goes right on here on top of the motor. I push in and now it 's easy to lock the motor. While you twist the propeller down or if you have a crash and break the propellers there's nothing to get hold of this makes it easier to unscrew the propeller from the motor that 's your little motor lock tool more stuff.
Empty here is keys for the cool travel case and here is as long as just move straight to that here is a USB cart the USB card contains the instruction manual along with additional information.
How to use it and firm wares for your aircraft :
So make it copy on your computer of this cart before you start using it let's open it up and find out how to put that into the camera this kind of comes out that's the plastic bag it came in and here is the memory card.
I can pull out here is a little micro SD card right here so really quickly the other thing that was in here we found a USB cable and this USB cable is intended for charging the radio.
You can see that, it is a USB plug right here on the side and remember. We also found a USB charger so that one plugs into that and now you're ready to charge the radio one of the very cool things about this radio.
It's basically an Android tablet with the radio attached because of that you can charge it from your laptop. If you wanted to and finally my favorite thing there is it is the card charge of version of power cable look at this plug. It right into the corner of the charging unit. Now you have a car charger that is really one of my favorite things.
Because, I whenever you're driving if you're going somewhere to shoot is very easy to get a couple of hours drive and you can charge a battery. Two while you're driving so that gives you a lot more flight time on a day you're going out trying to get nice shots because you can keep recharging batteries on the way around.
I love that eunuch has made the car charging option a default on all their kids so all their kids comes with a car charger. I think that's brilliant and I quite frankly for the life of me cannot understand why other people are not including card charges. All their kids let's have a real quick look at the battery.
We have the charger I know. I sound a little too excited about this battery but the problem is most batteries has a big cable hanging out at the end and my dogs has been chewing on those.
I really like what eunuch has done here they have removed all the cables from the end and basically what you have is a plug that the balance cable.
So now the balance taps it's in the battery and this is the balance charger so this is all you have to connect and it's now ready to start charging the stock batteries are three s 50 400 milliamps.
Which gets you about 20 minutes flying of course the way i fly i usually get back on the ground at about 15 minute mark just because i like to push it a little harder go a little faster.
But i really like the no cables end on these batteries it's my favorite little battery let me show you where these things go we turn this around and on the back side. If you can see it but you just push this door it comes open then.
You have removed the film from the lens and everything is ready you can remove the little KH that holds the camera this case you really should hold onto. I would keep some masking tape stuck on it because whenever you don't use the camera system.
You should put that back on as it prevents the camera from getting tossed around. Over here we have the camera itself i'm going to release the table real quickly and push the button there you go that is actually the camera here you can see it now.
It' s got a huge ventilation bent up on the back and down on the bottom here is where the memory card. The micro SD card goes it goes in right here just like that and now the micro SD card is installed and this is ready to go. So let's start get some power on the system.
So i can talk about it remember to plug the little cable back in there. We go before i proceed and start giving things powered up. I am going to remove this propeller.
Because i don't want to take the risk that this aircraft turns on and start turning the propellers next to My face alrighty then let's take a look at the radio real quickly here is the radio and of course on top here.
It says we're moving this film indicates that you have read the manual. So read the manual here on the left side is the pitch that is what adjust the angle of the camera and of course you see the camera view on this screen coming across here. We have the still photography button on the other side we have the video recording button and on the far right side.
We have one of the very cool unique specific features the turtle rabbit mode. So basically if you're new or if you're doing a video you want real slow movement put this thing to turtle and you're going to get these really slow soft moves.
If you want to move faster move it to wrap it and the aircraft will go faster basically in the turtle mode.
The aircraft has a max speed it cannot exceed that and it cannot churn client or move faster than the max settings and as you change that to wrap it. It goes faster and faster so that way you get more speed with the same amount of stick this is a great feature.
I know it is very very practical for new filmmakers and people that is not necessarily RZ pilot but once really smooth flying operation the rest of the control is of course the standard things. It has two sticks right here and upper left corner.
We have the start mode so when you're ready you push that down hold it down for about seconds and the propellers are going to start swinging after they start turning. I give them free four seconds and then I push the throttle up to about that is going to make the aircraft take off and hang in the air now before we do that we should make sure.
We have the right mode right now is set to smart mode we do not want to start flying in smart mode. We always start in angle mode with the tail of the aircraft facing towards us that means that the aircraft will be moving and turning according to the stick.
Once I get flying further than feet away from me. I can switch to smart mode and I now the aircraft switches. It becomes what's also known as intelligent orientation control meaning when I turn this stick to the right the aircraft start moving around in a circle to my right move.
It to the left it goes to the left move the stick out and the aircraft moves out move the stick down and it comes back towards me remember that mode turns off at about 30 feet. So when you get to feet you want to be switching to angle mode and fly it back home from there in ankle mode.
When you're in smart mode up in the rub upper right hand corner of the screen is an eye.If you click on that it's going to turn and it's look at me mode so it basically will use the GPS information from your radio and from the aircraft to know.
Where you are and turn and look at me look at you where what is flying, it so that is the basic mode you need to know about this radio and there is one final mode.
I don't really use it a lot because I like to fly the aircraft from beginning and until. I land but if you look at the radio the last mode.
When I push the switch down stays home and that mode basically you will want to flip down here will take over control of the aircraft. The aircraft will climb up it will come back home where you start it.
It will come down and land by itself so you could use this as a land switch when you're done flying like I said. I prefer to do all the flying myself one of the things to keep in mind when using return to home is it's going home in a straight line.
So if you have flown out and around a big bunch of trees or mountain and switch to home it's going to go in a straight line between where it is and where home is meaning. If there's too many trees it might fly into the trees.
So make sure you always have a clear line of sight between where the aircraft is and home when you engage. The home switch also make sure that you have a large area like 30 to 40 feet as your starting area but cause if the aircraft is a little bit off coming home and don't land right on the dot.
You really don't want to land in somebody on somebody's roof or in a tree just because you started right under the tree so don't do that always try to start. So that you can come back without any obstacles when you land alrighty with that out of the way.
Let's start powering some of these things up. I'm going to turn on the radio right here and I'm turning on the aircraft on the little switch on the bottom. Did you see that now the cameras right in itself and got stabilized you can see when I move this little slider now.
It's going to be looking down and when I do like that it's going to look back up. Alrighty guys one of the first things I was of course most interested in when I open this up is the 4k camera now right away you're going to notice when you look at the little gear down here for the settings and it says okay says video settings and all it gives you is some video file sizes and some frame rates.
So I'm thinking there must be more to this and there is so the first thing we're going to do is we're going to enable the pro version pressing.
We are going to go to Cameron select and then we're going to go from C geo tree to see geo tree pro that is my favorite mode that we're going to take that press select and say ok and then back out there. We go now you can see we've got all our menus first of all up on the side here.
We has out of white balance and what I always suggest is if you're flying outside and sunshine pick the sunshine mode or pick the overcast or whichever mode is the one you want because you don't want to come and fly it towards a blue wall and had to change colors on you so pick the color that's appropriate for your flight mode that way you don't have to worry about colors changing as you go.
So you can just basically slide this up and down and i'm picking overcast and you can see there i'm going to put it back to sunlight and that is that now down here is exposure compensation option by default the unit is set up to automatic exposure and what you can do is you can do minus or plus exposure.
I like to shoot at about one third minus one third to a half stock just keep everything a little dark to avoid blowing out highlights but you can also.
If you click on the red circle here then you go to full manual and now you have access to the is and the shutter speed. So you always want to be using the lowest possible is 0 you don't never want to use to 6000.
You want to use 200 or 100 is 0, so that you get smoother colors better contrast and more details in the shadow and in the highlight and you want to use the slowest possible shutter speed.
You can get away with the reason for that is that when you pan if you use a really fast shutter speed is going to step that dip dip dip dip and give you a startling image. If you take a motion picture like at home just freeze the DVD or the video for a second.
When they have a pan and you'll see everything is blurred that's because cinematographers. Usually would be shooting at 150's on the second. So when you pan quickly everything gets blurred and that way it doesn't look like it's stepping and that's going to give you a nicer more cinematography look.
So that's my main settings right here going through it here you can see you want to make sure you have a good number of satellites over here and there's two satellite indicators. It is GPS here that is the aircraft up in the other corner here you should have a seven or nine there's a little satellite here that is the satellites for your radio.
If it doesn't have a good satellite lock on the radio it cannot return back home. if you will need it to and it also doesn't do a very good job at follow me so those two should always have good satellite locks to start recall taking a still picture this is this switch up here push the button.
It goes click the other switch over here is the switch for starting a video recording when you start there it's going to start giving you a recording time right up on top here so that you can see how many seconds and minutes or hours has been recorded so that's the setup let's turn this off and really quickly put the camera on the handheld unit and take a look at that always turn off the aircraft before you turn off the radio so to go to handheld operation.
What we're going to do is thick unplug the cable in the back and push down this little tap right here on the nose that lets us. Remove the camera then I'm going to grab the grip and we're going to get the camera to slide into this track.
Just like that and here it is before it can start working we of course have to fuck a little plug in again so that goes in here there is you can see the cable right there this takes six batteries in the bottom and on top it has a little clip here that fits my tap for.
So I unfold that I install the tap for and now I basically have a handheld camera set up. It's possible to turn on and off audio recording so if you don't want noise of sound you can turn it off and if you want it you can turn it on.
I find this sound is good quality but it's not broadcast so if you will need this for a higher purpose. I would record sound on this but I would altandalone audio recorder and then I would merge the two tracks later one of the things.
I notice is a lot of people like to shake this around and use :
It kind of like little shotgun thing don't that you need to treat this a bit like a Steadica. I stick my finger in right about here and more or less balanced this on my finger and then just kind of very gently.
So try to move the camera rig so the camera is not being upset then the automatic the stabilized gimbal can smooth out the little upset that they are and give you a really good quality image now.
Let's really quickly talk about what this camera can do because one of the things that has happened with this 4k camera revolution.
You can shoot in 4k and then you can downscale in post production and get incredibly beautiful 1080p video but they're a high amount of resolution and details and that just was not possible two years ago. So these kind of cameras you could actually do a nice into you.
You can do event coverage with that and then res it down in post production and get some very very legit video out of it and let me tell you what the numbers really are because I was surprised when I started looking at.
How much resolution comes out of this particular camera by default.
You can of course get 720p every camera does 1080p but this one goes way further. It does the UHD which is ultra high definition television at 3840 x 2160 pixels that's 69 crop ratio and about an 8 megapixel image but it actually does a larger video even.
It does what is called wh xga and that is 51 twenty by thirty two hundred pixels or almost 16 megapixel and it's using more of the sensor on board here. What happens unfortunately is it gets a little soft on the edges but it's an incredibly large image as in ton of resolution.
You can make a print from a 16 megapixel file so that's actually interesting you can record it and pour prints out of it.
I didn't realize that this sensor could do that higher resolution because most for case i am heard of stopped dead at 4k anyway for everyday use. You should be using the UHD setting which is the standard 4k video setting the reason is it doesn't use as much on the sensor and that means you don't get soft edges the way you do. If you do that why it wide open but I'm still very fascinated that they included that ultra high resolution option.
I will be playing with that for sure how good are these cameras a quick look at these images will tell you all of them have good details all of them are great resolution.I put them up here on the screen Jake and see all four of them side by side and go to my blog at www.listlar.com because they are going to be talking more about these post.
I wanted to check if the resolution was okay so what I did was I stuck a tentpole a white tent pole in the middle of the picture at an angle. If you look close you can see the white line let me go ahead and blow them up for your nose at four hundred percent. You can clearly see that there is no pixilation but a nice clean diagonal line. I think it's safe to say, I am definitely happy with this camera the images.
I've been gettin out of here a solid and I've been able to edit them easily on my video projects. They endure edit with other video very nicely and I've been able to use handheld video from the handheld system.
I gotta tell you eunuch has done a phenomenal job at upgrading the q500 to the new q500 4k edition somehow they have managed to include the 4k camera with manual settings the handgrip the aircraft and the controller and two batteries and a travel box into less than fifteen hundred dollars. I really think that is very well done.
I got to tell you I'm very happy with this Yuneec Q500 4K aircraft. I've flown a lot of hours with it and if you're considering a 4k unit. I would definitely say you should take a very close look at this device I'm going to be updating my block this always with more images,Feature and also some more information about the camera.
The camera settings and we will talk about more how to get the better quality images while we are flying so stay tuned tocheck out my blog listlar.com and thank you for reading and I hope to see you again soon that lets us remove the camera then I'm going to grab the grip and I'm going to put that on the track then I'm going to graph the grip.
We're just going to slide the camera right back in then I'm gonna grab the grip and we're gonna get the camera into this then I'm going to grab the crib and we're going to get the camera to slide into this track just like that.

#10.Yuneec Breeze 4k - best drone for gopro
I hope you guys are having a great week. So far as promised this is my post of the unit breeze 4k flying camera.
I have been using your strong for about three weeks.
It's a small drone lock up with a carrying case two batteries and then use your smartphone to control the target market for this drum seem to be for beginner and intermediate with various fly more call tasks to use it power on.
The drone connect your phone to the WiFi network and then launch the app the drone quickly obtain GPS when outdoor. I use the gap between 15 to 18 satellite which make it pretty stable in the air the first time you use it. You will need to calibrate the compass and this process took somewhere between three to five minute.
It will require you to rotate the drum in various different direction. I didn't enjoy this part but you only have to use once taken up and landing is a priest. Which is strong just swipe the slider to take up and you can land it by pressing the home or the land button at any given moment.
You can interrupt this process. If needed keep in mind that you strong do not have any fancy obstacle avoidance system. So it will run into things if you're not careful one thing. I really like about it is that when you lose WiFi signal.
It will wait for10 seconds to reconnect. If it's not successful it will come home and hover over take up spot don't forget you can set D going home aptitude to set it a little bit high to avoid d just in case speaking of the reception is rated for about 150 feet and in my experience in an open field.
I was able to get over 250 feet and still have good reception there are five different tasks or flymo pilot selfie orbit journey and follow me pilot is your typical menu mode in which you can fly using more normal too.
I found flying with the phone is doable after a bit of practice pro tip hold out the virtual stick and move. It around slightly if you want more fine tuned direction instead of tapping on the arrow which give you a little more harsh movement in the next four mode i'll describe make sure that you place the drone with a camera facing toward you in selfie mode the drone will take up.
And hover over the ground then you can adjust it distant from you height turn it if needed and then you can switch it to the camera mode to take pictures or videos then this orbit test which is one of my favorite the drone will take up and then you can address how far it is away from you how high and the camera angle.
Then pressing the orbit left or right button the camera will circle around you and you see why you get some really cool matic look there's also Johnny more which allows you to set the camera initial height and the distant it will travel based on the pitch of the camera.
It will fly away from you do that listen and then come back for example. if I have the drone low to the ground with a camera pointing straight at me it will go backward and then for it back to me.
If I have it higher with the camera pointing at me it will go up and away like a hypotenuse of a triangle and then come back recording will automatically start and stop when journey is complete this also the follow me.
Which disappointed me as it could be pretty unreliable in mo one as I'm running around it will hover in the same spot and turn left and right to follow me you smoke well but however in MO two was supposed to follow me.
It doesn't seem to do a very good job and easily lose target one nice thing though when the drone was landing and after the motor cut up.
It will automatically stop recording unit say that this is a flying camera. So i expect a picture quality to be pretty good and then that expect a leap up stupid name these nothing megapixel still look pretty good as long as lighting is good outdoor and video in 4k seem to be pre shop.
When hovering in place or moving slowly or don't let the video can be shaking you're moving around too much making the 4k footage not very usable since it use digital stabilization meaning it will crop your image you will have to drop down top in order to get your features at 720p with stabilization the video quality seemed to be pretty usable as you can see from my video try out for its small size so there's not much you can do without a lack of the three XS stabilization system the drone will also have a building 16 gigabyte internal storage.
Which is plenty of space to store picture and video if you right now space while flying you can also record through the smartphone as needed you can upload a file to the phone via the app or you can connect straight to your computer using the micro USB port.
Which is usually what I do as it is much faster unit also marketed wrong as an indoor drone and use. It's true there is a set up camera in infrared sensor that's able to keep it position relative to the ground and hover in a pretty steady manner without any GPS however keep in mind that it will try to keep the distant relative to the ground which mean if you use an indoor line my house.
You go on over couch table and countertop the drone will go up and down to keep it listen one time. When I was using it indoor as I was about feet off the ground I went over my countertop and the drone got confused and rise up to compensate for the listen.
It hit my live resulting in the drone spinning out of control and crashing the good news is that the drone was fine the play is slightly damaged the camera cover come up and won the leg fall but everything was fine.
I suggest if you blend to use this indoor do it in the open space like a gym the drone comes with two 11-50 milliamp batteries each provide a solid 10 to 12 minutes of run time included is an external charger.
Which you can use to charge one battery at a time when they take 45 minute additional battery can be had for about thirty dollar. So guys for the price of about five hundred dollar. I do feel that the unit brief okay it's a bit expensive for what it does however considering the market space.
It currently occupied it's really nothing out there that provide use good quality camera. Its comeback site and ease of use for the price sure you can get out around that's about two to three hundred dollar put it on as good or just too big ensure. If you want to spend the extra to dollar you can also get the DJI method or the GoPro camera but which use similar technology as far as using a phone.
However, the latter to also give your ability to use RC remote control which provide much better response an extended range something that the unit pre simply.
- Camera’s max resolution is 4K and 30 frames per second.
- The 4K mode works better in still to no wind.
- Interchangeble the camera gimbal.
- 2 sets extra propellers.
- No in-door positioning sensor.
- No smart battery leds.
